The all-new TERYX KRX 1000 represents Kawasaki’s first challenge in the growing Sport Side x Side category, and an exciting new flavour for hard-core trail/adventure enthusiasts. Limited number available in Australia.
ENGINE
Offering the best of both worlds, the KRX 1000’s compact new litre class engine delivers both high power and high torque. Its well balanced performance enables both high-rpm operation as well as low speed running. The easy character accommodates a wide range of situations, from trail running to technical sections.
SUSPENSION AND BRAKES
Instrumental components of the KRX 1000’s off road capability as an adventure/trail model, the long suspension arms and massive FOX 2.5 PODIUM LSC shock units easily soak up obstacles encountered on the trail, and the suspensions ability to keep all fours wheel in contact with the ground keeps the KRX 1000 moving forward.
Four ø258 mm large-diameter disc brakes deliver superb braking force. Twin-piston calipers with ø32 mm pistons grip the front discs, while single-piston calipers with ø38 mm pistons slow the rear.
FRAME
Undercarriage is covered by highly durable skid-plates, with key components protected by steel pieces, adding to driver confidence. Steel plates behind the front fenders offer the vehicle protection from rocks and debris. Positioned above the steering wheel, large all-digital instrumentation offers at-glance information to the drive, featuring: digital speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, hour meter, clock, dual trip meters, 2WD/4WD indicator, front differential lock indicator, parking indicator, water temperature warning indicator, fuel injection warning indicator, neutral indicator light, reverse indicator light and oil pressure warning light. A seatbelt-use reminder lamp comes on for 10 seconds after the engine is started to remind the driver to buckle up. After 10 seconds, the lamp stays on if the drivers seat belt is not fastened. Always wear the seat belts and approved helmet.
Designed using Kawasaki’s advanced dynamic rigidity analysis, the KRX 1000’s frame incorporates the Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) as a stressed member. The energy-absorbing ROPS design helps disperse stress, contributing to optimal rigidity and high durability. Kawasaki’s high-grade electric power steering (EPS) system is speed sensitive, offering light steering effort at low speed, while reducing assistance as vehicle speed increases to ensure responsive steering. Electrically selectable 4WD and front differential lock can be engaged while on the go, enabling the driver to quickly and easily switch between drive systems to suit changing terrain and applications.
Power Mode selection offers the choice of Full or Low to suit preference and conditions. Rear carrier load capacity is 159 kg. Carrier’s recessed bottom (370 x 840 x 28 mm) helps prevent cargo items from moving around. Four cargo hooks built into the carrier bottom provide tie-down points to help secure cargo. The KRX 1000’s roomy cabin greatly contributes to ride comfort. High-backed bucket seats and three-point seatbelts support driver and passenger during hard riding, while providing comfortable seating during more leisurely riding. Ample legroom and lever-adjustable seats allow the driver to fine-tune their position for control and comfort.
