Styled in the image of its full-size MULE PRO siblings, the MULE SX family of side x sides packs plenty of stout muscle into a compact and agile two-passenger vehicle. Handle a wide variety of tasks with the ability to tread lightly and manoeuvre in tight areas – and fit in the bed of a full-size pickup truck.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Belt-driven automatic transmission with forward and reverse provides excellent riding capability. Rear differential lock for maximum traction. Ground disturbance is minimised when unlocked. The MULE SX 4×4 XC is powered by a 401cm³, 4-stroke, OHV, air-cooled engine. Compact, lightweight and durable, the engine is extremely reliable. Engine air supply enters the air cleaner box via a snorkel intake routed in the overhead frame, ensuring the engine is provided with a steady supply of clean air.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES

Independent MacPherson strut-type front suspension allows each wheel to track over uneven ground for maximum traction with light steering effort. Minimal wheel camber change throughout the suspension stroke for stability. Unit swingarm with dual shocks and adjustable spring preload. Front and rear suspension settings to balance off-road performance and ride comfort. The parking brake lever, located to the left of the driver’s seat, operates a mechanical internal expansion type brake for the rear wheels.

FRAME

The MULE SX XC’s 905mm x 1,044mm x 245mm (L x W x H) cargo tray holds a sizable 181kg. Cargo bed features a two-lever tailgate release system for easy opening and closing. All-steel front bumper is a standard feature, offering protection to the front of the vehicle. It is positioned close to the body for a sleek, integrated look. The seating for 2 adults has superb elasticity, resistance to cold, and enough padding for all-day working comfort.

The dashboard contains all indicators, information and buttons to operate the MULE SX 4×4 XC. Spaces available for additional accessories and buttons. A 16-litre fuel tank gives the fuel-efficient MULEs ample operating range. The fuel tank filler inlet position makes refuelling easy. Dual halogen headlamps cut a bright path. The Halogen headlamps (the same sporty units used on Kawasaki’s Teryx and Teryx4 models) contribute to the no-nonsense styling.
